Helen Phillips joins Mustard as their newest Business Adviser

Mustard are delighted to announce that Helen Phillips has joined the company as a Business Adviser.

Helen will be joining the already well-established business advisory organisation, who enable owner-managed businesses to realise their potential, so that they have more time, more money and more fun.. Mustard provide support in four main areas; business growth, business acquisition, exit planning and franchising & licensing.

After studying Electrical Engineering and then pursuing a Masters in Science (MSc), in Manufacturing Systems Engineering and Management, Helen became the first female engineer at Allied Steel and Wire in 1989, paving the way for other women to follow in her footsteps. Helen worked for many of the business units of Allied Steel and Wire, and left to join Eurobond. During her 16 years at Eurobond, Helen undertook a number of roles from customer service to supply chain and logistics, and business systems to quality management systems, which culminated in five years as Operations Director of Eurobond Doors Ltd.

Helen’s role as an Adviser will see her delivering the proven Mustard eight-step programme, and providing sound and knowledgeable advice on topics such as franchise and licensing, exit planning, and business acquisition. Her advice will be given to businesses that have been running for over 5 years and that have over 10 members of staff.

Helen commented the following about her experience and her new role with Mustard:

“During my time at Allied Steel and Wire, the Chief Executive believed that the General Managers of the future would be engineers with a broad business experience, so I was given unique opportunities to work in every department, and at every level. I loved finding out how businesses worked, in the same way I loved finding out how process control systems worked. I had a flair for looking at how people worked and finding ways to improve them.”

“Mustard have given me the opportunity to combine my broad business knowledge with my love of coaching, to help successful business owners grow their businesses, and help them and their teams to achieve their potential. Joining Mustard is going to be a big step for me, and it will be both exciting and challenging.”

“I know what it’s like to be the only Director on site with everybody looking to you for answers, and I have been through every one of the eight steps at some stage in my corporate life. I am looking forward to sharing that insight with my clients.”
